HALL DIARIES: Student Halls

Updated: Oct 30, 2020

Student halls in London will be home to some of the best experiences you’ll have during your time at university. Even if you are not particularly outgoing, or have moved to the city from a different country, our top advice for new students is to remember that everyone else is in a similar situation, and are also there to make new friends. Make sure you familiarise yourself with your student union and the bar at your halls so you never miss an opportunity to meet people to explore the city with after Freshers’ week ends!

Speaking as two people who have stayed in a number of student rooms in London (some nice, some not), we can say the most important feature of your accommodation is to choose student halls close to your university campus. Not only does it save you precious sleep time in the mornings, you’ll save a lot of money on public transport and taxis travelling between campus and your room! Something we don’t discuss in this podcast but will cover another time is the bike rental station right next to the London Student Hotel, which makes any journey within Central London very easy. As Sofia says, you’ll also be able to check your morning exercise off your list while you travel.

Aside from the location, the London Student Hotel has a lot of features we wish we’d had access to when we were at university: student halls with housekeeping services are such a luxury because you don’t need to worry about taking out your bins or washing your bedsheets. It’s the little details that make all the difference when moving away from home for the first time; not having to juggle house maintenance with your studies and social life will save so much time and hassle.

We hope you found this podcast and blog helpful, but if you’re looking for more student accommodation advice don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via email, phone, or any of our social platforms.
